Winter Wonderland Manchester Review

After our visit to Winter Wonderland in Manchester, I wondered why we have never visited before. The UK’s largest indoor Christmas theme park, situated at Event City in Manchester certainly did not disappoint. We have been recommending it to our local friends ever since. Find out why in our honest Winter Wonderland Manchester review…

Winter Wonderland Manchester Entrance

Entering the Fun Fair at Event City

Walking through the curtains that shielded the event, we were instantly lifted into the Christmas spirit. Snow cascaded upon us as we were greeted by lights, noise, laughter and over 50 rides and attractions to enjoy!

Finding a quiet area at Winter Wonderland

We headed straight to the back of the venue upon entering and found it to be a little quieter. Easily hopping on our first ride which was a twister. It was so much fun, with both myself and Mini Me in hysterics between screams!

Once steadied from that ride, we decided to take the plunge with the Waltzers. There is a tamer, child’s version of the waltzers, I may aim for that next time!

What rides can you expect?

I was seriously impressed with the quality of the rides and the space between them. Along with the fact that you never had to queue for more than a couple of minutes for a ride.

Everything was so well organised and laid out – the number of entrants allowed in was spot on, but be warned, you will have so much fun that your 4 hour time slot will simply fly by!

Adults can enjoy the rides too, with some rides requiring adults to be present with children, but who wouldn’t want the opportunity to have a go?

Both Liv and I are adrenaline junkies when it comes to fun fair rides and for us, it was an awesome night, we did have so much fun!

It was lovely to take a breather for 5 minutes whilst the children had fun in the Fun House, hilarious to take part in but also super funny to watch!

Having fun at Event City Manchester Indoor Fun Fair

Rides are dotted around the outside of the venue, with a handy seating area and main stage in the centre. Feel free to take the load off at any time!

Spending 4 hours at the indoor fun fair can be tiring! Family shows are held on the main stage, encouraging children to participate and get up and dance.

The seated food area is next to the main stage if you require refreshments. Just in case, water units are available on the outskirt of the venue.

Trust me, you will need a drink! You can pack your own refreshments to take with you, as food stall prices are quite expensive. I love the fact Winter Wonderland is under cover, protecting you from the Manchester elements.

However once you have been on a few rides, you will realise how warm and cosy it is in there!

Winter Wonderland Manchester Review Meeting Santa

Meeting Santa at Winter Wonderland Manchester

There is a dedicated area for a Santa meet and greet opportunity away from the rides, which is included in the ticket price. You will receive a gift from Santa for an extra £3.50. Exiting Santa’s Grotto is quite exciting as you have the chance to meet actual reindeer!

As expected, Liv has already asked to return! Clearly that’s the greatest compliment and we are both very much looking forward to visiting Winter Wonderland again!

  1. Really enjoyed this, the circus was amazing! My 3 year old loved it.
However I was not overly impressed when the entrance has changed this year to the area of the car park, there was no man power or railings in situe to protect the children as this is a family event! I think that needs looking into before a child gets hurt by a car/vehicle. Other than that it was great. But I’m sceptical on returning and I visited last year and loved it

    • It was our first time at the event, so I had no idea how it has previously been organised at the entrance. However we got there at 7pm when it was a lot quieter and were straight in. I am sorry this posed a problem – I can only imagine queues are long to get in there and can see your frustration with it being right in the car park. Hopefully this is something the organisers will look into, but please don’t let that put you off – the event is so awesome and hope you will consider returning!xx
