I’m so glad you’re here! I’m Simone Riches, the creator of Manchester Mummy, a blog dedicated to all things Manchester, parenting and the wonderful chaos of everyday life in this vibrant city.
As a mum to a teenage daughter, this site is my corner of the internet dedicated to all things Manchester, parenting and the wonderful chaos of everyday life in Manchester.
You may also know me as Sim, the content creater behind Sim’s Life / Touring Duo / Keto Recipe Ideas / Daily Snitch and 15 Minute Reset – yep, I’m a busy bee!
Our Life in Manchester
Manchester born and bred, I have grown to love every bit of this bustling city, from its iconic landmarks to the hidden gems only locals know about. Every Mancunian always knows that wherever you are in the world, Manchester is always home!
With a teenage daughter to keep up with, my days are filled with adventures big and small and there’s always something new to discover or share.
Whether it’s a quirky cafe in the Northern Quarter, the best family-friendly events or just practical tips for keeping kids entertained on a rainy Manchester day, I’m here to bring you along for the ride.

My Background and Experience
My journey in the digital world began long before I started blogging. With a background deeply rooted in IT, from my educational path to professional experiences like working in the IT department at Manchester’s main infirmary, technology has always been a significant part of my life.
Looking back, it seems almost inevitable that I would find my way into website development and blogging, though I didn’t realise it at the time! Currently I create content for 8 of my own websites and offer website management to other local, Manchester based clients.
I’ve always believed in continuous learning, which led me to pursue several certified courses in digital marketing that have significantly contributed to my content creator expertise:
- How to Create Great Content – University of Leeds
- Digital Skills: Digital Marketing – Accenture
- Digital Skills: Web Analytics – Accenture
The knowledge gained from these certifications, combined with my years of hands-on experience, has allowed me to develop a more strategic and data-driven approach to blogging.
This continuous learning journey has been instrumental in evolving Manchester Mummy from a personal blog into a comprehensive resource for families in Manchester.
As I continue to grow and learn (and buy even more domains!), I’m excited to bring new ideas and improved strategies to Manchester Mummy, always with the goal of providing the best possible content and experience for you, my wonderful readers.
