Tempo At Worsley Park Review and Menu

Tempo at Worsley Park is a super handy sports bar, located in the heart of the Marriott Worsley Park hotel, conveniently located near the leisure centre.

After two recent visits, I’m writing a Tempo at Worsley Park review, with menu options, so you know what to expect before visiting.

Disclaimer: Menu options and prices may change over time, so it’s worth checking with the bar for any updates.

What I ate

The first time I visited the sports bar, I chose the Cajun Battered Cod Burger priced at £15. It comes in a brioche bun with lemon mayo and rocket salad, plus a portion of fries and coleslaw.

A crispy fish sandwich with fresh rocket, a side of golden French fries in a mini fryer basket and a serving of creamy coleslaw, with a menu for Tempo at Worsley Park behind the meal.

This was a lovely, freshing meal – not as heavy as a burger, but equally as filling. The crispy fish combined with the briche bun was deliciou! For the price, I thought it was actually quite reasonable and I did appreciate the presentation of the meal.

For my second visit to the Tempo sports bar, due to following the Keto diet, my only option was to plump for a Classic Caesar Salad, priced at £11.

Grilled chicken Caesar salad with romaine lettuce, Caesar dressing, and grated Parmesan cheese served in a white bowl on a wooden table.

This was just the bare bones salad and you have the option of adding chicken, halloumi or buttermilk chicken for an extra £5.

I was actually bitterly disappointed with this salad, especially for the price of £16! It was an actual rip off! There were no croutons as I had requested for them not to be included so I think the kitchen made up with even more lettuce.

I’m not a rabbit and would have preferred proper shreds of parmesan as opposed to the little sprinkle of very finely grated cheese there appeared to be. It also felt to me that the chicken had been cooked in a microwave. It really wasn’t the refreshing salad for lunch that I hoped for.

If I could eat carbs, then I would happily try the Pancake stack!

The Nibbles section includes items like Hot 'n' Spicy Chicken Wings and Halloumi Fries. The pizza options include Classic Neapolitan and All Things Meaty. The salads section offers Classic Caesar Salad, Cobb Salad, and Greek Salad, with additional options to add chicken, halloumi, or buttermilk chicken. Calorie counts are provided for each item.

Nibbles, Pizzas and Salads

I would stay away from the salads, I do not think these are great value for money. While I cannot comment on the pizzas, but did see another table served with them and they did look good.

A plate of salt and pepper squid with lemon wedges and a small bowl of dipping sauce, garnished with sliced red and green chilies, sits on a white plate. Next to it, a dish of loaded fries topped with crispy onions, shredded meat, and bacon is served in a small black skillet, placed on a white plate. Both dishes are presented on a wooden table.

On our first visit to the sports bar, my friend ordered the Salt and Pepper Squid (£7) from the Nibbles section and Porky Fries (£7) without cheese (don’t ask!). Apparently these were delicious and again the presentation was good.

The Burgers section includes options such as Tempo Classic Burger, The TFC, The Porky Burger, Buttermilk Halloumi Burger, Plant Burger, and Cajun Battered Cod Burger, each with calorie counts. The Loaded Fries & Sides section offers items like Porky Fries, Spicy Fries, Sea Salted Fries, House Salad, and Onion Rings, with calorie counts listed for each item.

Burgers, Loaded Fries & Sides

As you can see from the Loaded Fries pictured above, they are good value for money and seriously tasty. The Cajun Battered Cod Burger is also a hit.

We saw other tables who had ordered burgers and they looked equally as delicious and well presented.

As mentioned, the sports bar is located just next to the leisure centre, making it convenient if you want to nip in for a quick snack or drink after a workout.

Behind the cup is a menu for Tempo at Worsley Park, with the restaurant's name written in red and black text. The background includes blurred details of the café setting.

Drinks prices are in line with standard bars, with a pint of Pepsi Max costing just over £3 and the same for a hot chocolate. You can enjoy time in the bar with a beverage, you do not need to order food.

Atmosphere at Tempo Sports Bar

Tempo is a sports bar with large TV screens that were playing golf when we visited. I’m sure they also show football matches and other sports too, so it’s worth checking their schedule.

The bar is very laid back, with comfy, well spaced seating and tables and the service has always been pleasant and friendly. It has never been particularly busy when we have visited, so have always been able to find a table.

Wrapping up Tempo at Marriott Worsley Park Review

I really do like the vibe of the bar and am putting the disappointing salad down to the kitchen having an off day. I’d definitely return to Tempo, but maybe just for drinks and a chill out next time.

You can enjoy food at many other nearby restaurants, such as George’s in Worsley to enjoy food. Just because you are visiting the hotel doesn’t mean you have to eat there. The food prices are reasonable for some meals, but the quality of other dishes really needs improvement to justify the cost.

If you’re visiting the Marriott Worsley Park hotel, it is worth a trip to Tempo and I hope this review has helped you choose which meals to order.
