Prezzo Salford Quays Review – Italian Restaurant in MediaCity

REVIEW – I recently spent a lovely afternoon at Prezzo Salford Quays with Helen from North West Family Adventures and I wanted to share our full review of the experience (thanks for the invite Prezzo!) – from the updated Spring menu to the restaurant’s relaxed, modern setting.

We were both seriously impressed – not just by the food, but also by the location and the welcoming atmosphere.

Everything from start to finish was just spot on.

Warm Focaccia – The Perfect Nibbles for Menu Browsing

As we settled into our table perfectly positioned for a bit of people watching (and, if you’re lucky, the occasional celeb spot), we started off with a an ickle nibble Warm Focaccia Bread (£4).

Four toasted sticks of soft focaccia, served with olive oil and balsamic vinegar for dipping. Perfectly warm and comforting and just what we needed while we pondered the menu.

Starters – A Flavourful and Filling Start

Italian meatballs served in tomato sauce with focaccia.

I decided to go for the Italian Meatballs (£8.95), a mix of pork and beef in a rich tomato pomodoro sauce, topped with a drizzle of olive oil and served with toasted focaccia.

Honestly? These were so full of flavour, they were rich, meaty and absolutely delicious. A generous portion too, so if you’re hungry, this is the one. Though I really could have

Tomato bruschetta with pesto on hand-stretched dough at an Italian restaurant in Salford Quays.

Helen chose the Tomato Bruschetta (£7.95), which looked so colourful and fresh. Made on hand-stretched pizza dough, it was topped with marinated tomato, red onion, Prezzo’s own pesto, and fresh basil.

It looked fantastic and Helen really enjoyed it – she said it was light but still filling, which is ideal as a starter.

Main Meals – New Spring Favourites You Will Love

Now let’s talk about the mains and I have to say, Prezzo’s Spring menu refresh is full of gems.

Tuscan BBQ Chicken Pizza with sausage crumb and red onion at Prezzo Salford Quays.

I ordered the Tuscan BBQ Chicken Pizza (£17.50) and wow this was incredible. The Calabrese tomato base was topped with mozzarella, tender chicken, pork sausage crumb, red onion and rosemary, then finished with a drizzle of honey that gave the whole thing this gorgeous sweet and smoky balance.

I was totally sold. It’s one of their new menu additions and honestly, it’s worth ordering just for that kick of honey! Normally I’d take half home… but let’s just say it didn’t make it that far.

Spaghetti with king prawns, red chilli and parsley at Prezzo Salford Quays.

Helen had the Spaghetti with King Prawns (£18.45) which was a vibrant, colourful dish that looked as good as it tasted.

The juicy prawns were tossed in a sweet tomato sauce with a generous helping of garlic and red chilli, which gave it a lovely warmth without overpowering the flavour. Helen said it felt light, fresh and full of zing, making it ideal for a Spring meal.

Sides – A Great Value Add-On

House fries, mac & cheese bites, pizza and pasta at an Italian restaurant in Media City.

We also added a couple of sides, House Fries (£4.95) and Pancetta Mac & Cheese Bites (£4.50) and made use of the Any Two Sides for £8 offer, which felt like great value.

The fries were crisp and well-seasoned and the mac and cheese bites were gooey, crispy and packed with flavour. The other side dish options were equally as tempting!

If you’re searching for places to eat in Salford Quays that offer both flavour and value, this spot really hits the mark.

Dessert – Because There’s Always Room…

Caramel Macchiato Sundae with Baileys and Flake at Prezzo Salford Quays.

It’s almost tradition now that Helen and I end up picking the same dessert and this trip was no different!

We both went for the Caramel Macchiato Sundae (£8.75), with two scoops of vanilla ice cream with salted caramel sauce, whipped cream and a Cadbury Flake.

You also get the choice of a single espresso or a shot of Baileys with the sundae or both for just £2 extra. I loved the salted caramel with the Flake, a lovely combination of creamy and sweet. The perfect way to end the meal, especially after such rich and filling mains.

Restaurant Service That Stands Out

A huge shoutout to the super lovely Ellen, who looked after us throughout the meal. She was friendly, attentive and made sure everything ran smoothly, without it ever feeling rushed.

It was clear all the staff were delivering that same lovely service to every table around us, which is always lovely to see. She really helped make the meal feel that little bit more special.
